Rand the Tattoo Artist

Hi i'm RAND - artist, HUSBAND, FATHER, & DOGGIE dad

Say hello to Randy "Rand" Thiel, the mastermind driving the creative pulse of God is Good Ink. With five years of tattooing expertise—including three years as a full-time artist—Rand has carved out a versatile niche, excelling in fine line, lettering, American traditional, and the rebellious flair of polka trash styles. His journey kicked off under the wing of mentor Jesse Barksdale in Georgetown, Texas, where his passion for the craft caught fire and never dimmed.

Rand’s five years in the game have sharpened his skills and fueled his love for transforming skin into art. After spending over 25 years in inertial management, he made a bold pivot at 40, discovering his true calling in tattooing. His experience shines brightest in cover-ups, where he blends seasoned precision with a fresh, artistic edge to breathe new life into old ink. Every piece he creates is a testament to his unique journey, merging years of discipline with a creative spark that’s distinctly his own.

Outside the studio, Rand’s a family man through and through—cherishing life as a husband, brother, and dad to four, with two furry sidekicks rounding out the crew. His seasoned hands and bold vision make him the go-to artist for anyone craving ink with soul. Ready for a tattoo that’s as dynamic as his story? Rand’s got you covered.

what i'm good at

From the first time I witnessed the vibrant ink weave a story onto skin, I knew I wasn't just captivated by art, I was ignited by a passion. Tattooing isn't just a profession for me, it's a way to empower self-expression and leave a lasting, positive impact. I envision my art not simply decorating skin, but uplifting individuals by translating their stories, dreams, and values into permanent, meaningful pieces.

I want to use my skills to not only fulfill artistic desires, but also to boost confidence, celebrate individuality, and inspire others to embrace their own unique narratives through the beautiful language of tattoo art.
